PRODUCTBronze Windows and Doors
ARCHITECT / CONTRACTORGroves Natcheva Architects Ltd
ABOUT PROJECTFor this project, we supplied and installed handcrafted bronze doors and windows for the offices of Groves Natcheva Architects Ltd, including the striking penthouse extension above. The works formed part of the refurbishment and extension of a white-rendered building in Central London, where the warm tones of bronze provided a bold contrast to the building.
In collaboration with the architects, we delivered a total of 134 fixed windows, 38 side-hung opening windows, and five oversized bronze doors. The windows provided included Thermabronze fixed lights, top openers, and side-hung units, all fitted with Stamford handles and sliding stays. All units were double-glazed, with selected windows incorporating bronze cills, glazing bars as required, and rain guards for enhanced weather protection.
The solid bronze doors featured contemporary bead detailing and were designed to open inward. Bronze panels were also used extensively throughout the project, including as a cover between the basement and ground floor, framing for basement-level windows, and as part of a screen enclosing the penthouse level. This project highlights the versatility of bronze in contemporary architecture.
