Metal Doors

Made from Architectural Bronze

We offer various bronze door systems for use internally or externally which can be individually tailored to suit the style and aesthetics you are trying to achieve. Most of our doors can be designed to be fully glazed, or incorporate solid bronze panels.

Why Choose Bronze for Doors?

Bronze is a beautiful metal that has been used in architecture for centuries. It combines timeless aesthetics with practical benefits and sustainability, making it a long-term investment for future generations to enjoy.

Slim Profiles

Whilst exceptionally strong, architectural bronze is a refined metal alloy and can be extruded to slender sections with great detail. The fine sightlines of all our bronze systems will produce a slim framed door with interesting and attractive transom and abutting detail.

Low Maintenance

Bronze is a non-ferrous metal and naturally resistant to corrosion requiring minimal maintenance to retain its durability and charm. Unlike ferrous metals such as steel, bronze does not require galvanising and painting or powdercoating which can chip, peel and will deteriorate over time.

Striking Aesthetic

The aesthetics of bronze provides an incomparable finish to traditional powder coated steel and aluminium metal windows and doors. Consider why bronze was the chosen metal of great civilisations for the beautifully aged statues and coins that remain in existence today.

Slim Bronze Door

This is a slender profile ideal for internal doors and screens. When combined with Thermabronze™ fixed panels, it also provides a solution for internal and external screens.

The doors are fitted with 20mm double glazed units, secured into place with either a traditional or contemporary decorative bronze bead. The Slim Door can open inwards and outwards and is secured with a euro cylinder latch and internal shoot bolts and has been tested for Part Q Security.

Panelled Doors

When a glazed door is not suitable for a project, we are able to provide panelled doors which will provide greater privacy and screening. These are generally produced using timber backed bronze sheet, but we have created doors with a solid panel or kick plate in a few different materials with great effect.

With bronze panelling, as bronze is a living metal, there will be some natural inconsistency in tone and colour which is generally considered pleasing.

Curved Doors

Bronze can be bent and curved to form most arcs and shapes, for existing or new openings, whether within the door or as a curved glazed panel above.

Curved or shaped doors can be produced in all our systems, although some of our extrusions will bend to a tighter radius than others. All have a minimum bending radius, and our designer will discuss with you which is the most appropriate system for your preferred design, if of interest.

BRONZE TONES

Bronze can be antiqued to two standard lustres – Mid Bronze and Dark Bronze. This choice helps to achieve the best look for your project and complements other materials in your home. We can also supply products in Bright Bronze which strips the brass alloy back to its raw gold-like colour.

BRONZE PROFILES

Most systems offer a choice of traditional or contemporary shaped bead for securing the glass into position. This allows for greater compatibility to your architectural project requirements.

Our Heritage System windows, whether single or double glazed, are traditionally pointed with silicone putty.
