Unlike most secondary glazing, our bronze system incorporates double-glazed units, which in turn offer far greater thermal insulation and soundproofing than a single-glazed option. They can be either openable for ventilation and cleaning, part removable or fixed.
We’ve applied our secondary glazing to a broad range of buildings, but it is particularly well suited to Listed and period properties where retaining the integrity of the original fenestration is critical. The system is entirely bespoke, allowing us to tailor each installation to suit the size, shape, and style of the original openings.
As part of the refurbishment of the Grade I listed Dining Hall at St John’s College, Oxford, we installed bronze secondary glazing.
Each four-metre-high bronze unit was made to sit seamlessly within the windows, preserving the hall’s character while providing exceptional performance and draught-proofing.
Secondary glazing was the ideal solution for this project as it was essential to retain the integrity and provenance of the existing windows while improving thermal efficiency.
Completed with full English Heritage approval, the project was recognised with an Oxford Preservation Trust Award.
We’re pleased to announce the launch of our new website, which offers a fresher look and access to our expanded range of case studies. We’ve added more recent projects, showcasing the versatility of our bronze and glazing systems across a wide range of buildings.
